Hello! You may be wondering who we are and why we feel important enough to have a website. Well to answer your second question: we do not feel we are important in any way, just thought having a website to play around with would be fun. Now back to your first question: we are just your average run of the mill family of four. The hubster works for a web hosting company {hence why we have the website to play around with} and I work for a furniture manufacture {which doesn’t help much to calm my dream of being an interior designer}. We have two beautiful daughters, two loveable dogs, and one cat that puts up with it all. When we are not busy working, cleaning the house, running the kids around to school and activities, taking care of the animals, and all the other stuff adults tend to be obligated to do, we spend our days enjoying each other’s company. We love the outdoors and camping. Family walks with the dogs are a fun evening past time, and keeping a low key, drama free life – ok almost drama free if we are being realistic here. We try not to take life to seriously and just enjoy having fun and being silly whenever possible.
Let me tell you a little more about myself since the hubby deals with the behind-the-scenes stuff and this page will be mostly about me and things I love and want to share with you all. My name is Christy. As I’ve mentioned before I dream of being an interior designer. I also dream of being a world famous event planner, graphic designer, photographer, writer, and artist. Basically I am one of those people with crazy creative energy. Things I love {besides my family} include: Harry Potter, Disney, believing in magic, reading, Game of Thrones – the books and tv series, being silly with my little nuggets, owls, binge watching HGTV, perusing Pinterest for inspiration and ideas, refurbishing and re-purposing thrift store finds, spoiling my dogs and cat, and taking photos of all things unique and pretty. People I admire and find inspiration in are J.K. Rowling, Walt Disney, and Joanna Gaines. I also love organization. I drool over a good organizational method. My best friend and I go to the office supply store and wonder up and down the aisle admiring organizational and office supplies. We are those kind of nerds. Lastly, believe it or not, I am an introvert and like to spend a lot of my time quietly relaxing with a book or creating the next look for the decor in my home. I am a pretty positive, funny, and mellow person despite what my mother and sister might say. This website is a great way for me to combine and share all that I love to do without actually having to be around people, how great is that?!
Now to address one last thing you may be wondering: why Goose and Beans? What does that even mean? To put it simply, it is our daughters. Well their nicknames to be more exact. Our oldest Kenzie was always called “silly goose” and it eventually got shortened to “Goose.” Jillian’s nickname since before she was born was “Jillybean” and that eventually got shortened to “Bean.” About a year ago while I was creating a menu to go with a Christmas present we were building for Kenzie {post coming soon of this creation} I had named the restaurant “Goose & Beans.” Hubby thought that it would be a great name for a website as well, and since his job is to maintain it that is what he decided to use. So that is how “Goose & Beans” came to be. It’s that silliness I’ve told you about.
